Gingham For Fall: Gingham Dresses, Jackets, Tops and More

Gingham fall fashion

Share

I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to give up my gingham at the end of summer…I want gingham for fall! In the past I’ve always considered gingham a spring/summer sort of staple, but I’m realizing now that you can easily transition into gingham for fall. Whether it’s buying long-sleeve gingham dresses and tops or layering a gingham jacket over another outfit, there are plenty of options to wear gingham into the fall.

Here are some of my favorite finds so you can indulge in gingham for fall!

Gingham for Fall: Tops

Gingham Peplum Top

Gingham + peplum…yes, please! In my humble opinion, peplum tops look good on everyone. I’m a total sucker for peplum.

You could easily pair this gingham peplum top from White House Black Market with a black blazer, leather jacket or sweater and wear it through fall. Dress it up with a tapered ankle pant for work or down with jeans for weekend fun.

Gingham sweatshirt

I’m obsessed with this gingham sweatshirt from Draper James that comes in navy, yellow, light blue and light pink.

There is limited size availability, but they do have a button so you can sign up to be emailed when they restock. I’m already on the list for the navy!

Red gingham top with ruffle neck

This cute ruffle neck tank from Crown & Ivy also comes in navy and pink. Crown & Ivy is one of my favorite brands! Their tops tend to run a little big, so you might need to size down.

Gingham for Fall: Pants

Gingham ankle pants

Gingham pants are perfect for fall. I love this pair from White House Black Market. The belt is removable…but why would you want to?

These taper at the ankle and come in regular, short and long.

Gingham pants

I love the high-waisted pixie ankle pants from Old Navy, so I was thrilled to find they have these great blue gingham pants in the collection.

These come in regular, tall and petite. Although I’m only 5’4″, I can usually wear the regular pixie ankle pants from Old Navy. If you’re 5’3″ or under I’d go with the short though.

Gingham for Fall: Dresses

Gingham sleeveless dress

If you live in a hot climate like me, this is the perfect gingham dress for fall. Wear it as is as summer fades and then add booties and a sweater when the evening chill sets in.

And bonus…this dress has pockets! I also love the bigger check on this pattern.

Gingham long sleeve dress

If fall means long sleeves for you, here’s a great long sleeve gingham dress.

It would look adorable with a cute pair of black booties! I think you could even transition into a knee-high black boot as it gets cooler.

I also think this one would look great with a black hat like this one.

Gingham for Fall: Jackets

Gingham trench coat

I love this pink gingham trench from Talbots!

Such a fun twist on a classic trench. I’m a big believer that your outerwear should be part of your outfit, not just something random you throw on over top of your outfit. Maybe that’s why I have a coat closet full of outerwear even though I live in Florida, haha!

Gingham military jacket

This gingham military jacket from White House Black Market gives gingham an edge look!

Pair it with a pair of black booties this fall for a sharp look. I got these Levity Norma black booties last year from DSW, and they’re so comfy and would look great with this jacket.

Gingham for Fall: Accessories

Gingham headband

Who doesn’t love a headband?

You can grab this gingham headband from Draper James.

Gingham earrings

Only want a little gingham accent? I love these gingham earrings I found on Etsy.

Gingham for Fall: Kids

Gingham for fall for kids

I couldn’t resist adding a couple of options. I think gingham outfits in a pumpkin patch or in fall leaves would make such a cute “mommy and me” matching outfit photo!

Love this adorable gingham outfit for a little girl available in infant and toddler sizes.

Gingham for fall boys outfit

I wish I had a little boy for this outift! So fallish!

How perfect are those golden pants for fall photos?!

This one is available in infant or toddler sizes.

Show me your photos in your gingham! Tag me on IG @SavvyCarlisle.

The hubby @seegreatart and I took a road trip to F The hubby @seegreatart and I took a road trip to Fort Pierce, FL this weekend to see the latest Florida Highwaymen exhibition at @aebackusmuseum. 🎨 My hubby has written extensively on the Florida Highwaymen, and we are lucky to get to see so much of their work here in Florida. This group of more than two dozen African American painters captured the Florida landscape in bright, vivid colors from the 1950s on. They could often be found selling the paintings out of the trunks of their cars. You used to be able to nab these paintings in garage sales around the state from people who didn't know what they had. However, those days are long gone. Now, these paintings can go for tens of thousands. One of the original Highwaymen, Roy “R.A.” McLendon, was in attendance last evening. How work hangs in the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture.Have you ever seen these paintings around FL?
#FridayKiss from the MS I #amquerying, SUMMER BY T #FridayKiss from the MS I #amquerying, SUMMER BY THE BOOK:The woman blushed and seemed embarrassed that Lucy had caught her looking through the shelf. "Do you have Hydrangeas on Hill Street?""I do." Lucy nodded, moving to the left of the woman and plucking the title off the shelf. "I read it when it first came in. It's a lovely book.""I feel a little silly." The woman opened the book and turned it so Lucy could see the author photograph on the back flap. "It's my first book. I still get a little thrill every time I find it in a bookstore." Her cheeks still flushed pink, her eyes not meeting Lucy's.
